부르다 = to blow, to sing

-네 = adds a nuance of surprise or amazement (물렀네)

너희 = you (plural)

놀다 = to play

때 = the point in time when something happens

꿈 = a dream

집도하다 = to perform surgery

-며 /-으며 = while X (집도하며)

잠 = sleep 

참아가다 = to fight off, to resist (참다 + 가다)

매일 = every day

볼펜 = a ballpoint pen

잡다 = to hold, to take in one’s hand


아침 해가 뜬 뒤에 나 눈을 감네

I don’t close my eyes until the morning sun has risen.

아침 = a morning

해 = the sun

뜨다 = to rise

뒤 = the back of something, “after”

-에 = at X (뒤에)

감다 = to close (eyes only, not doors, windows, books, etc)

못 = to not be able to do X (X being the following verb)

(This is obviously an added apostrophe, not a period, but to “put a period on something” is a Korean expression meaning to put an end to something)

똑똑히 = clearly, properly

이 = this, these

것 = a thing

마침표 = a period (in punctuation)

찍다 = to stamp, to mark

됐다 = Past tense of 되다 (to become). But used in different contexts to mean “There!”, “Done”, or even “Nevermind”
