English translation and Korean lesson based on Jimin’s notes of thanks included in the physical copy of BTS’s 2020 album BE.

English Translation

First of all, to all of our family at Big Hit, including PD Bang, and to all of the staff who work on site with us, to department head Yeong-joon, director Lum[pens], and director Hyeon-woo I want to convey my sincere thanks. You have no idea how grateful I am just for the fact that you work together with us like you do, with the situation being what it it is. I know very well how hard you’ve worked and how much effort you’ve put in so we could create a good product together, even though the situation may be dangerous.

We too were confused and had a tough time with this situation. While going through that we all pulled ourselves together and worked hard on this album. Thanks to you all helping and putting in such effort, we were happy and enjoyed ourselves, and were able to release good products. You have no idea how precious this album is to me because that’s how it was made. Even coming to you all one by one to say thank you wouldn’t be enough. Thank you again and again.

To our members, once again, thank you again and again that we do all of these things as a team rather than alone. Because we’re a team I was able to stay cheerful even now. Because we’re a team, I was able to be ambitious again. I want to be together always. Thank you again and again.

Our patient ARMY, you waited a long time, didn’t you? You have no idea how much confusion we were all thrown into at the thought that we really can’t meet you right now. Thinking of how the things which are most precious to us, make us the happiest, and sustain us wouldn’t be possible, it felt like so many things were falling apart. It wasn’t like we couldn’t do anything at all. I guess we must have just really missed you. So after spending some time like that we all pulled ourselves together and became more thankful for the fact that there is something we can still do. What gave meaning to that something is you. I hope this can be an album that, at least in some small way, can boost your spirits.

Also, I know very well that I come up short when compared to the patience and support you always give. I’m going to keep at it and show you my growth in the future, so always keep an eye on me please.

Now and forever, thank you and I love you.
