공인으로서의 노력하는 Life Who knows?

The hardworking life of a public figure. Who knows?

공인 =  public figure

-으로서 = “as”, “in one’s role as” (공인으로서의)

-의 = indicates possession, like ‘s in English (송인으로서의)

노력하다 = to put in effort, to try


큰 욕구는 자제하는 중 Who knows?

Keeping my great desires under control. Who knows?

크다 = to be big

욕구 = desire, cravings, urges

자제하다 = to control oneself, to restrain oneself

중 = indicates that you’re “in the middle of” an action


늘 공상에 차오르는 숨 Who knows?

Daydreams that always catch my breath. Who knows?

늘 = always 

공상 = a daydream, a fantasy

-에 = in, at, on X (공상에)

차오르다 = to fill up, to rise up

숨 = breath


편히 울고 싶은 거 I know

I want to feel free to cry. I know.

편하다 = to be comfortable, relaxed

-히 = used to turn adjectives that end in 하다 into adverbs. IE: “comfortable” becomes “comfortably” (편히)

울다 = to cry

-고 싶다 = to want to do X (울고 싶은)


미친 듯 놀고 싶은 거 I know

I want to party like crazy. I know.

미치다 = to be crazy

듯 = as/like X (X being the preceding clause)

놀다 = to play (Koreans used this word to mean “to hang out”, etc)


사랑에 설레고 싶은 거 I know

I want to be stirred by love. I know.

사랑 = love

설레다 = to flutter, for one’s heart to palpitate with excitement, etc

다 = all

물고기 = a fish

-처럼 = like X (물고기처럼)

걸리다 = to be caught


삶에 갈증으로 인한 욕망이란 그물 덫

in a net called desire, due to your thirst for life.

삶 = life

갈증 = thirst

-으로 / -로 = via X, using X (갈증으로)

인하다 = to be due to X (X being the preceding word)

욕망 = desire, appetite, ambition

그물 = a net, netting

덫 = a trap


보편적인 심리적 도피

Universal psychological escape.

보편적 = something universal (noun)

심리적 = being psychological (noun)

도피 = an escape


나라고 헤엄쳐 나갈 수는 없는 법

Even I have no way to swim out.

나 = I, me

헤엄치다 = to swim

나가다 = to go out

-ㄹ 수 없다 / -을 수 없다  = to not be able to do X (나갈 수는 없는)

법 = a way, a method of doing something


Not 현실 거부, 불만, 부적응,

Not a denial of reality, discontentment, being maladjusted,

현실 = reality

거부 = to reject, to deny

불만 = discontentment, complaints

부적응 = being maladjusted

It’s not any of those things.

그 = that, those

어떤 = which, any, some

것 = a thing

-들 = makes a noun plural (것들)

아니다 = to not be X (X being the preceding noun)

한 번쯤 다른 나의 인생 그림 그려 보고 싶은 거야

Just once I want to draw a picture of a different life for me.

한 = one

번 = time (as in “one time”, not “what time is it?”)

-쯤 = about X, roughly X (번쯤)

다르다 = to be different

인생 = life

그림 = a drawing

그리다 = to draw

맘 = heart/mind, in the metaphorical sense, not the anatomical (shortened spelling of 마음)

A man of romance who takes his shot when he likes someone, errday.

들다 = to enter

마음에 들다 = “to like something” (literally “for something to enter one’s heart”)

저격하다 = to shoot, to snipe

사랑꾼 = someone who is good at, or loves love (사랑 = love + -꾼 = someone who is good at or takes great joy in X)


공식 없이 욕구를 풀어대 Errday

With no set formula, letting my desires run loose errday.

공식 = a formula

풀어대다 = to let something loose, sort of (풀다 = to untie, to loosen + -대다 is commonly attached to verbs that have a nuance of “to keep doing something”)


성격을 무시해 Errday

Ignoring my personality errday.

무시하다 = to disregard, ignore, defy


부끄럼 없이 울고 싶다고 Errday

I want to cry without shame errday.

부끄럼 = shame, humiliation

일 = one

순위 = level, rank


그냥 돈 걱정 없이 Deep sleep
