It’s so strange. Obviously, I loved you so much.

(Meet the real you hidden inside the storm.)

숨기다 = to hide something

-와 or 과 = “and” if followed by an accompanying noun, “with” in all other cases (너와)

Why did I want to keep this precious person hidden?

이렇게 = like this

What made me so afraid that I hid my true self?

뭐 = what, something

그리 = so (as in “so afraid” or “this afraid”)

Chorus:

I’m the one I should love in this world

shining me, my precious soul.

이제야 깨달아 so I love me.

I finally realize it now, so I love me.

Though somewhat lacking, still so beautiful.

I’m the one I should love

Bridge:

I might be a bit unpolished and imperfect.

But with all of this, I am me, just as I am.

The arms, legs, heart, and soul that have brought me this far…

지금껏 = up until now, so far

살아오다 = to live, but with an added nuance of “to here”, “up until this point” (살다 = “to live” + 오다 = “to come”)

팔 = an arm

다리 = a leg

심장 = a heart

Chorus:

사랑하고 싶어 in this world

I want to love them, in this world.

Shining me, my precious soul.

이제야 깨달아 so I love me

I finally realize it now, so I love me.

Though somewhat lacking, still so beautiful.

I’m the one I should love

I’m the one I should love

I’m the one I should love
