How long have the moon and the earth been together like this?
달 = moon
-과 = “and” when followed by another noun, “with” in all other cases (달과)
지구 = earth
언제 = when
-부터 = starting at X , from X (언제부터)
이렇게 = like this
함께 = together
존재로도 빛나는 너 그 곁을 나 지켜도 될지
You, who shine just by existing, could I stay by your side?
존재 = existence, presence
-로/-으로 = via X, using X (존재로도)
-도 = too, even (존재로도)
빛나다 = to shine
너 = you
그 = that
곁 = one’s side. Not the side of your body, but the spot right at your side
나 = I, me
지키다 = to protect, guard, but when used with 곁, it means “to stay at your side”
-어도 되다 / -아도 되다 = to be okay if X happens, often used to ask “can I do X?” (지켜도 될지)

-의 = indicates possession, like ‘s in English (나의)
네게 난 just a moon,

-에게 = to X (네게)

밝히다 = to brighten

주위 = the surrounding area
맴돌다 = to spin, rotate, hover, linger (basically to hang around in the air)
-ㄹ게 / -을게 = I’ll do X, with an added nuance of “if that’s ok with you” (맴돌게)

I’ll stay by your side.
-에 = at X, on X (곁에)
있다 = to be in a location, to have something (depending on the preceding particle)
-어 주다 / -아 주다 = to do X, with an added nuance of “as a favour to you” (있어 줄게 and 되어 줄게)
